Re:      Monthly Engineering Status Report

Dear Mayor & Committee Members:

            The following is the status of the remaining and proposed projects for your use and comments. 

1.         Millstone Road Improvements from Clarksburg Road to Blueberry Hill (TTF FY 2006)

a.         This project was approved for $150,000 grant from NJDOT.

b.         Bids were received on September 12, 2006.  A contract in the amount of $252,113.13 was awarded to Earle Asphalt Co. on September 20, 2006.

c.         Project is complete.  Punchlist work will be completed in the spring.

2.         2006 Roadway Improvement Program

                        a.         The following roadways were included in this road program.

                                    1.         Back Bone Hill Road (2.35 miles)

                                    2.         Agress Road (1.91 miles)

                                    3.         Burnt Tavern Road (0.68 miles)

b.         A contract was awarded to Arawak Paving Co., Inc. in the amount of $868,900.00 on September 6, 2006. 

c.         Project is complete.  Punchlist work will be completed in the spring.

3.         Back Bone Hill Road Realignment

This project includes realignment of Back Bone Hill Road and Schoolhouse Road, drainage improvements and construction of a new parking lot for the Board of Education.  The project is funded by the Township and the Board of Education.

a.         A contract in the amount of $769,112.55 was awarded to Meco, Inc. on March 23, 2006.

b.         Work is substantially complete.

c.         Modifications to the detention basin and punchlist work will be completed in the spring.

4.         Abate Park Improvements

a.         Work included a gravel parking lot, 3 tennis courts, 3 basketball courts, a handball court, walking path, drainage and other related work.

b.         A contract was awarded to Meco, Inc., and work commenced on August 28, 2006.

c.         Work is 75 percent complete.  The remaining work will be completed in Spring 2007.

5.         Abate Park Improvements – Phase II

We are considering applying for a grant for handicap restroom facilities at this park.  The application deadline is June 30, 2007.

6.         Brandywine Park Improvements - CDBG FY 2006

a.         A grant in the amount of $62,344 for handicap accessibility and restroom facilities at Brandywine Park has been approved by the County.

b.         A contract in the amount of $181,279.00 was awarded to Meco, Inc. on November 1, 2006.

c.         Work is 30% complete.  The prefabricated building is anticipated to arrive in late March.

7.         Millstone Road Improvements from Baird Road to Route 33 (TTF FY 2007)

a.         This project was approved for a $160,000 grant from NJDOT.

b.         Once the funding is in place, we will proceed with the preparations of plans and specifications.

8.         2007 Roadway Improvement Program

            The following roadways are considered for next year’s road program:

            a.         Alpine Drive/Cedar Court/Lakeview Drive.

            b.         Giant Maple/Old Oak Court/Blue Spruce Court/Running Brook Drive.

            c.         Charleston Spring Road.

d.         Roberts Road.

Once the funding is in place, we will proceed with the survey and preparation of plans and specifications.

9.         Baird Road Improvements from Millstone Road to Woodville Road (TTF

FY 2008)

We are considering this roadway for a grant from NJDOT.
